Hain Ceremony

The Hain Ceremony was a secret rite of initiation into puberty for the young Kloketen men; it could also be considered a school that was instilling in the young men teachings and practices that would be useful in his adult life as a hunter and warrior.

The ceremony consisted of threatening the young man with death if he was to reveal ceremonial contents to the women; they were not to tell anybody what happened in the "great cabin", a place where the whole ceremony was carried out. It consisted of painting the body in a particular way and covering the head with a hood, in this way they came out of the Great Cabin, and the women in those times believed that these were supernatural beings fallen from the sky, and to whose omnipotence the women were submitted.
