Rupestrian Painting

Rupestrian painting is the plastic manifestation executed by the man in the eaves and caves of nature.

The most important cave paintings of our Patagonia are in the Cave of the Lioness and in Fell's Cave.

It allows interpreting certain aspects of the daily and spiritual life of the former inhabitants of the Chilean Patagonia.

Our forbears used the technique known as Pictography which is the application of painting, pigments of colors with some watery or oily cementing agent. Also, blowing or starching was used to obtain hand stamps in positive.
